Preparedness questions

Practical skills.
Clear expectations.

Do we need radio or mapping experience?

No. Training can start with the fundamentals or build on the skills your group already has. Tell us about your team and equipment when you enquire.

Is this training for civilian groups?

Yes. The focus is civilian preparedness: clear communications, mapping, teamwork and readiness for community resilience and SAR support roles.

Does this qualify us to conduct search and rescue?

The training focuses on communications and mapping skills. It does not confer an operational SAR qualification or deployment authority. Exercises and operational use should follow your organisation’s procedures and coordination arrangements.

Can we use our own equipment and maps?

Yes. We can review what you already use and agree a practical setup, including offline mapping and backup arrangements. Any radio use is planned around the permissions and licensing applicable to your team.
